How to make payments to CRA:

This is an easy and convenient way to make your CRA payments from anywhere. If you are unable to make your payment by cheque or you do not have a remittance voucher to make your payment at the bank, follow the steps below to make your CRA payment through your online banking account.

What you’ll need:

  • Business number or SIN number

  • Amount to be paid

  • Online banking log in information

Follow these steps to make your payment:

  1. Click the following link which will prompt you to open CRA’s online payment page:

  2. Click ‘Pay now’ to begin.

  3. Select a payment:

Choose a payment link based on the type of CRA account you are looking to pay:

  • Personal taxes - choose the ‘Individual income tax (T1)’ link under ‘Individuals’

  • GST – choose the ‘GST/HST’ link under ‘Businesses’

  • Payroll – choose the ‘Payroll source deductions’ link under ‘Businesses’

  • Corporate tax – choose the ‘Corporation income tax (T2)’ link under ‘Businesses’

  • Trust – choose the ‘Trust (T3)’ link under ‘Trusts’

  1. Select payment allocation:

Choose a payment allocation link based on your payment type:

  • Amount owing – Choose this option if you are looking to a pay an amount issued by CRA by a notice of assessment or letter for your business account.

  • Balance due – Choose this option if you are looking to pay a balance owing on your business account.

  • Interim/Tax instalment – Choose either of these options when making instalments to your personal or corporate tax accounts.

  • Regular remittance – Choose this payment option if you are making your monthly payroll deduction.

  1. Enter payment details:

When entering your company’s business number, ensure that your 9 digit business number is followed by:

  • RT0001 – GST account

  • RP0001 – Payroll account

  • RC0001 – Corporate tax account

  1. Once you have confirmed the amount and account number are correct, proceed by clicking the ‘Confirm and proceed to pay’ link and the ‘Pay now’ link to connect with your financial institution. 


Please be aware that it may take 2-3 business days for your payment to be processed.
